St. Mark’s Celebrations 2016 Reservoir Jam

Sunday May 1st, 2016

Tufton Hall,
St. Mark’s,
Grenada W.I.

Start Time: 5:30AM

Free Admission

The first Reservoir Jam was held about 16 years ago, by a group of young people from St. Mark’s who were attending T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) at the time.  It was a period when not many activities were held in the actual town of St. Mark’s – Victoria.  Street jams and street fiestas were not allowed in Victoria, as there was numerous complains of noise pollution at the time. The young people who needed that cultural aspect of recreation to ‘release some stress’, decided to organize a street fiesta away from the town of Victoria, which was called the Reservoir Jam as there is a water reservoir in the area the street fiesta was held – Tufton Hall.

The Reservoir Jam has grown throughout the years, and is now part of the annual St. Mark’s Celebrations.  It is an event that is well attended.  Entertainment includes live artist and deejays on floats with revelers partying on good roads through lovely countryside with rivers, plantations and wildlife never too far away…. the mountain air still fresh in the early morning… bring someone along to share the experience.
